Jamelle Davis | JD Art
Award-Winning International Muralist & Multidisciplinary Artist
Jamelle Davis, professionally known as JD or JD Art, is an award-winning muralist and multidisciplinary artist based in Edmonton, Alberta. Known for merging realism, pop art, abstraction, illusion and cultural storytelling, his work transforms walls, public spaces and unconventional surfaces into immersive visual experiences.
JD Art’s portfolio spans large-scale public art, corporate and commercial murals, original canvas work, environmental branding, product design, installations and international collaborations. His work has been commissioned by the City of Edmonton and organizations across Alberta, while brand collaborations have extended his artwork beyond the wall into footwear, packaging and commercial campaigns.
In 2025, Lulu Lane, created alongside HCMA Architecture + Design and fellow project contributors, received an Award of Excellence at the Edmonton Urban Design Awards. For the project, Jamelle created an imagined portrait of civil-rights figure Lulu Anderson, whose likeness has been lost to history, transforming that absence into a bold and visible presence within downtown Edmonton.
His fine-art practice has also been exhibited at the Art Gallery of Alberta as part of 5 Artists 1 Love, where a dedicated JD Art space presented a collection of original works exploring identity, relationships, reflection and the complexities of lived experience.
Beyond Canada, JD Art’s work has reached international spaces including Berlin’s RAW-Gelände, while collaborations with brands including Foot Locker and Converse have brought his visual language into fashion, product design and commercial media.
Before establishing himself as an artist, Jamelle competed internationally as a professional basketball player. That background continues to influence his practice through movement, discipline, risk and an understanding of the relationship between performance and creativity.
Today, JD Art continues to work across public art, murals, fine art, branding and unconventional creative projects, approaching each new surface as an opportunity to tell a story people can experience rather than simply observe.
ART WITHOUT BOUNDARIES.
Walls. Canvas. Products. Public spaces. Culture.
